About Us
StreetSideCare is a community-driven initiative dedicated to bridging the gap between the streets and the systems meant to serve. We believe that every person — regardless of housing status — deserves access to health knowledge, dignity, and compassionate support. Through educational resources, storytelling, and grassroots outreach, we empower communities to care smarter, act boldly, and advocate for lasting change.
All About Me
Hi, I’m Nishka Sharma — founder of StreetSideCare and a proud resident of Ventura County, California. I started this initiative because I believe access to dignity, health, and opportunity shouldn’t depend on whether someone has a roof over their head. The number one issue facing Ventura County today is unhoused individuals — and too often, the conversation focuses on the problem without investing in real, human-centered solutions.

StreetSideCare was born from a simple belief: that we can do more, and we can do better — together. Through this platform, I aim to share resources, build awareness, and spark meaningful action around issues like health literacy, access to care, and support for unhoused individuals in our community.

This blog is more than just a collection of articles — it’s a place to learn, to care, and to act. Whether you're here to find information, share a story, or take your first step toward community advocacy, you’re in the right place.

Thank you for being here. Together, let’s bridge compassion and care — from the streets, for the people.
— Nishka
